We were asked to research specific biological systems, extracting logics of organization, geometry, structure and then to design and fabricate prototypes that respond to electronic and environmental stimuli. Advanced analysis, simulation, modeling and fabrication tools were introduced to apply this information to architectural systems.
Inspired from the see anemone and its symbiosis relation with the clown fish, we proposed a facade system that can interact with both the environment (sun and wind) and the users. This project was imagined on one of the facade of the school. For each of the stimuli, the facade has specific movement. We have created computer prototypes and real prototypes that can actually move depending on the value of a sensor. For what we have tested, the facade creates an incredible user experience. The light control improves the working conditions inside the school.
