The project regardes the re-design of an existing square in Montreuil, Paris suburbs.
The buildings surrounding the square are in reconstruction, the square is actually deserted.
The idea is to give a new life to the square by creating a real urban space.
This was achieved by understanding the potential users of the square depending on the time and creating space for them. All the spaces were generated from a simple mineral block that looks like it has just bloomed from the ground. The faces of the blocks were studied carefully to be able to generate different uses: sitting, resting, meeting, skateboarding.
The night time was carefully studied too. To guide people to the entrance of the movie theatre at night, small LEDs light were added to the ground and one face of each block is dedicated to lighting.
