The project consistes in the design of a train station and its facilities in a rural poor area close from Paris.The facilities consist in not less than 7000 parking places, 10 train parking places, bus stations. We were asked not to use any cad software but to work with models.
There site is divided by an existing railroad in two parts: endless county and a new logistic area.
The idea was to integrate the project in the existing country landscape. Moreover the circulation flows are essential in train station, I effort myself to design them simple, convenient and pleasant. To achieved that, I designed the train station under the existing elevated railroad. This breaks the barrier between the two sites of the railroad and allows to have circulations as simple as possible. The building’s skin is made of gabions: wire mesh «containing» masses of locally quarried stone. On the outside, this attenuate the impact on the environment that an architectural object of this type could potentially have: the building blends into the surrounding landscape.
Natural lighting guides the user from the outside to the platform through different narrow opening. The platform is design as a generous urban space with vegetation growing and reminding the beauty of the surrounding country.
